SWELECT Unveils Off-Grid Solar Cooking Solution on Tamil New Year

New Delhi: SWELECT Energy Systems Limited has introduced an innovative clean-energy cooking solution, “Off-Grid Solar Cooking,” marking its launch on the occasion of Tamil New Year. The new technology enables households to operate regular induction stoves entirely on solar power, eliminating the need for grid electricity or cooking gas.

The launch comes at a time when rising LPG prices and concerns over consistent gas availability are putting pressure on household budgets. SWELECT’s latest offering aims to provide a sustainable and self-reliant alternative, allowing users to cook daily meals using only solar energy.

The Off-Grid Solar Cooking system utilizes solar photovoltaic (PV) panels to generate electricity, which directly powers standard induction cooktops. By removing dependence on both traditional electricity supply and LPG cylinders, the solution brings energy independence into everyday kitchens while promoting environmentally friendly practices.

Speaking on the occasion, Dr. Arulkumar Shanmugasundaram, Managing Director and CEO of the company, said the initiative is intended as a meaningful step toward empowering Indian households. He emphasized that the innovation reflects SWELECT’s commitment to making clean energy practical and accessible for daily use. He also highlighted that the solution has been developed in-house by SWELECT engineers, complete with proprietary technology and intellectual property rights.

As the company looks to scale up production and adoption, it is inviting households across the country to explore and experience solar-powered cooking, positioning the product as a viable alternative in India’s evolving clean energy landscape.
