Prime Minister Narendra Modi greets West Bengal residents on Bengali New Year, criticizes TMC’s 15-year rule, and expresses confidence in BJP forming the next government.
Kolkata : In the midst of the election atmosphere in West Bengal, Prime Minister Narendra Modi wrote a letter extending Bengali New Year greetings to the people of the state, while also launching a sharp political attack on the ruling Trinamool Congress government. In his message, the Prime Minister conveyed his wishes for a bright future for the citizens and expressed strong confidence that the Bharatiya Janata Party would emerge victorious in the upcoming assembly elections.
Beginning his letter in Bengali with a prayer to Goddess Kali, Modi wrote that on this auspicious occasion, he prayed from the depths of his heart for the people of West Bengal to move forward toward a brighter future with renewed enthusiasm and energy. The tone of the letter soon turned political as he targeted the Trinamool Congress, alleging that over the past 15 years, the people of the state have suffered from misgovernance, disorder, and corruption. According to him, this has severely impacted the basic rights and dignity of common citizens and has also harmed the cultural fabric of West Bengal. He added that witnessing the pain and distress of the people leaves him deeply saddened.
The Prime Minister further accused the current state government of creating an atmosphere of fear, claiming that it has compromised the safety of women, limited employment opportunities for the youth, and deprived the poor of their rightful entitlements. Calling for collective efforts to build a “Developed West Bengal,” Modi urged citizens to come together in shaping a future where every poor family has a roof over their head, no one goes hungry, women can step out without fear, and young people do not have to migrate to other states in search of jobs.
Assuring a change in governance if the BJP comes to power in the state, Modi stated that West Bengal would then progress in step with the rest of the country and play a leading role in achieving the vision of a “Developed India.” He appealed to voters to take the right decision in the upcoming elections, not just for themselves but for future generations, emphasizing the importance of building a brighter tomorrow.
Expressing confidence in the electorate, Modi wrote that he firmly believes the people of West Bengal will place their trust in the Bharatiya Janata Party and in him, delivering a historic victory in the elections. He concluded the letter by once again extending his New Year greetings to the people of the state.
