PM Modi said, “Only diaspora Indians can properly present the country abroad. They are the ambassadors of India.”
Indore: Indian diaspora can showcase India to the world. Speaking on the occasion of the 17th Pravasi Bharatiya Divas Convention in Indore, Madhya Pradesh on Monday, the Prime Minister hailed the diaspora Indians living in different parts of the world as the real ‘Rastradoot’ (ambassadors) of the country. According to him, the world's enthusiasm towards this country has increased due to recent progress in various fields of India. And these non-resident Indians have played an important role in meeting the growing interest of the whole world about India. The Prime Minister also spoke about India's chairmanship of the G20 at the conference. President of the Republic of Suriname Chandrika Prasad Santokhi and President of the Republic of Guyana Dr. Mohammad Irfan Ali.
Prime Minister Modi said, “This Pravasi Bharatiya Divas is of special significance in various aspects this year. Just a few months ago we celebrated 75 years of independence. The country has entered the Amrit era. India's international vision will be stronger during this period." It was at this time that he mentioned the role of diaspora Indians in the development and progress of India and said, “Only diaspora Indians can properly present the country abroad. They are the ambassadors of India.”
Besides, referring to the G20 meeting held in India, the Prime Minister said that India is chairing the G20 meet this year. India sees this responsibility as a great opportunity. He said, "This is an opportunity for the world to learn from India's experience." He said, “When the people of India are seen as a common factor in different countries of the world, the spirit of Vasudhiva Kutumbakam emerges. When people from different provinces and regions of India come together in any country of the world, the pleasant feeling of one India, Shrestha Bharat arises.”
Meanwhile, besides this conference, Modi held a bilateral meeting with the two presidents today. Tomorrow, President Draupadi Murmu will present the diaspora Indian honor to 27 non-resident Indians at the conference.
