Garden Café celebrates Diwali 2026 in Kolkata with festive food, digital diya lighting, exclusive Newtown desserts and a special meal for underprivileged children.
Kolkata : Garden Café is celebrating Diwali across its outlets with special festive décor, photo corners and a limited-period combo offer, bringing together food, family and the spirit of sharing. Extending the celebrations beyond its cafés, the South Indian vegetarian restaurant chain has also planned a special festive meal for underprivileged children as part of its community outreach initiative.
Visitors can enjoy a range of Garden Café's popular South Indian vegetarian delicacies, including dosas, idlis, vadas and other traditional favourites. The festive ambience and special arrangements across the outlets aim to offer guests an opportunity to celebrate the festival with family and friends over their favourite dishes.
Adding a modern touch to traditional Diwali celebrations, the Garden Café outlet in Alipore will introduce a digital lamp-lighting experience. Inspired by the age-old custom of lighting diyas, the initiative seeks to recreate the symbolism of light, hope and new beginnings through a contemporary interactive experience.
The Newtown outlet will also offer an exclusive range of bakery specialities during the festive season. The limited selection includes Coffee Bean, Toasted Milk & Dulce Brownie, Biscoff Cheesecake and New York-style Blueberry Cheesecake, adding a sweet dimension to the celebrations.
Speaking about the initiative, Sandip Nowlakha, Founder of Garden Café, said that Diwali was not just about celebrations but also about spreading happiness and sharing it with others. He added that the café wanted guests to enjoy good food and create special memories while making the festival meaningful for those beyond its outlets. The special meal initiative for underprivileged children, he said, was a small effort to extend the warmth and joy of the occasion to the wider community.
With festive food offerings, interactive experiences and a community-focused initiative, Garden Café aims to celebrate Diwali by bringing together culinary traditions, togetherness and generosity.
The festive dining experience comes at a starting price of Rs 200 per person, plus GST.

It was among the early establishments to introduce pizza to Kolkata, using a cherished family recipe. Since 1982, the café has also been serving 108 varieties of dosa, each offering a distinct taste.
Known for its welcoming and inclusive atmosphere, Garden Café combines traditional food with a relaxed dining experience. Its Newtown outlet features a simple yet serene interior, an open kitchen and a green outdoor seating area, offering guests a comfortable setting to enjoy their meals.
