The Union Ministry of Road Transport and Highways is not only developing infrastructure, but also taking a new plan to prevent accidents, says Union Roads and Transport Minister.
New Delhi: In two years, 25,000 kilometers of two-lane and four-lane roads will be built across the country. For which a cost of Rs 10 lakh crore will be incurred. A big announcement related to toll plazas will be made within the next week. Two ISI certified helmets will be given free of cost on purchase of a two-wheeler. Union Roads and Transport Minister Nitin Gadkari made various such demands and announcements while participating in a conference. Recently, Gadkari had said in Parliament that his ministry is going to bring a revolution in the roads across the country. To achieve this goal, 25,000 kilometers of two-lane and four-lane roads will be built across the country in the next two years. For which a cost of Rs 10 trillion, i.e. Rs 10 lakh crore, will be incurred. The Union Minister reminded us of that once again at the event on Sunday.
The improvement of the country’s overall road system, including national highways, during Gadkari’s tenure is undeniable. However, the allegation against him is that the cost of tolls has increased at a faster rate than the pace at which he is improving the roads. In this context, the Union Minister said, “If you want to get good service, you have to pay the price. But I promise, my ministry is going to make a big announcement regarding tolls in the next seven days.”
The Union Ministry of Road Transport and Highways is not only developing infrastructure, but also taking a new plan to prevent accidents. It is learned that the Center is going to bring a new law, as a result of which the vehicle manufacturers will have to provide two ISI-approved helmets free of cost to the customers when they buy a two-wheeler.
