An old false message viral again as ‘10 new rules by the Indian Railways from 01 July’
In recent days, a message containing a list of 10 rules purportedly issued by the Indian Railways has been circulating widely on social media. The message claims that these rules will come into effect from July 1 (2023). However, our fact-checking investigation has revealed that this claim is false.
Upon further investigation, it was discovered that a similar message has been circulating on the internet since at least 2015. Various news agencies had also published similar reports in 2016, but the Indian Railways officials clarified that the message was baseless and incorrect. Similar clarifications were issued by the Ministry of Railways in June 2017.

One of the rules mentioned in the viral message relates to staggered timings for booking Tatkal tickets of AC and non-AC categories. However, it was clarified by the Ministry of Railways back in June 2015, and the official circular is available to confirm this information.
Furthermore, the mention of Suvidha trains in the viral message is also misleading. Suvidha trains were introduced by the Indian Railways in 2015, and they are not part of any new rules being implemented from July 2023.
The Ministry of Railways has repeatedly stated that the message circulating on social media is false and baseless. The misinformation has caused confusion among the public, and it is important to rely on verified information from authorized sources.
In conclusion, the claim of 10 new rules by the Indian Railways effective from July 1, 2023, is false. The message has been circulating since 2015, and the Ministry of Railways has clarified its inaccuracy on multiple occasions. It is crucial to verify information before sharing it to prevent the spread of misinformation.
Remember to stay informed and rely on credible sources for accurate information.
