Mumbai : Financially troubled airline Go First has suspended services on all its routes. As a result, several airlines are aggressively try to fill the void created by Go First's absence. Also, the number of air travelers is increasing now after the shock of the Covid situation. Airlines are in a difficult position to handle the rush of passengers on international and domestic flights. Plans are underway to increase the number of aircraft to meet that extreme demand. High demand has been noticed especially in the international arena. Although the cost is increasing, the number of passengers is increasing at the same time. A few companies are planning to exploit these opportunities created by Indian air services in domestic and international airspace. In the meantime, IndiGo is moving towards the implementation of the plan by taking active steps.

IndiGo is the largest airline in the country in terms of market share. According to a news agency source, the company is set to sign a potentially record deal to buy 500 narrow-body A320 family jets from Airbus. Talks on this matter have already progressed a lot. Incidentally, now IndiGo has a total share of 56% in the country's domestic air services market. The company plans to ace its rival in the domestic air services market by signing this mega deal. In February, Tata Group subsidiary Air India announced the provisional purchase of around 470 aircraft. IndiGo will virtually emerge as the front runner if it signs this deal.

According to Airbus' recently released price list, the order will require around $50 billion to complete, experts said. But, in several cases, the company can get huge discounts, which can reduce the cost significantly. Aircraft makers Airbus and Boeing are also reportedly in separate talks to sell 25 A330neo or Boeing 787 wide-body aircraft models to IndiGo. IndiGo's Chief Executive Officer, Peter Elberts attended the International Air Transport Association Annual Meeting in Istanbul. He did not comment on this. Airbus and Boeing also declined to comment.

This year, IndiGo has announced the launch of 6 new routes in Africa and Central Asia. The company took this decision after seeing the increasing demand in the international field. At the same time, the company wants to expand the air service in the country.
