WhatsApp services have already been launched by various state-owned banks and insurance companies in the country.
Private mobile service provider company Bharti Airtel to provide services to India Post Payments Bank (IPPB) customers through WhatsApp. Customers can use Post Payments Bank services on their mobile phones. The two organizations said in a statement on Friday. According to news agency, the WhatsApp messaging solution will be delivered to customers through cloud-based communication platform Airtel IQ. Through this cloud it will be possible to provide services to customers on voice, SMS and WhatsApp.
Airtel Digital Business Head Abhishek Biswal said, "India Post Payments Bank customers are already contacted through messages and voice. Now we are adding the bank's WhatsApp messaging service to it. This will strengthen the communication between the bank and the customers." In association with IPPB, Airtel will help customers connect with banks on WhatsApp. The company also plans to launch multiple banking services including home delivery requests, location of the nearest post office. According to Airtel, in the future this platform will enable customers in rural parts of the country to get banking services in the language of their choice.
Gulsharan Rai Bansal, Chief General Manager, IPPB said, "We believe technology-driven financial services have huge potential. This will ensure that the best financial products are delivered to every corner of the country." Bharti Airtel, on the other hand, said IPPB and Airtel IQ are aiming to specifically enable customer service through the WhatsApp solution.
Incidentally, WhatsApp services have already been launched by various state-owned banks and insurance companies in the country. This initiative is also being taken by IPPB. Experts say it will make customer service smoother.
