Drishyam 2 Review : Ample twists, turns and drama

The fear and trauma of what happened seven years ago still haunt Vijay Salgaonkar (Ajay Devgan) and his family.

Vijay Salgaonkar, a cinema hall owner, thrives in life but is a changed man. However, when his family gets entangled in a criminal investigation, he must protect them from the legal institution yet again. The story plot of the movie Drishyam 2, the sequel of most watched Drishyam.

The fear and trauma of what happened seven years ago still haunt Vijay Salgaonkar (Ajay Devgan) and his family. How much longer can the truth go undiscovered by the police, who are employing novel techniques and tracks to solve the case? Can Vijay also save himself and his family in the future?

Vijay Salgaonkar escapes from a police station with a shovel in the 2015 Drishyam sequel, which is based on the Malayalam thriller of the same name. The fact that the almost perfect crime had a witness seven years ago provides the police with the impetus and ammunition they need to reopen the Sameer Deshmukh missing-person investigation so long after the fact. Vijay is now the owner of a theater and wants to make a movie about a story he wrote. While his younger daughter Anu (Mrunal Jadhav) is in her teens, his elder daughter Anju (Ishita Dutta) is still reeling from the traumatic events. His wife Nandini (Shriya Saran), as well as the rest of the family, are carrying on with life as usual, but they are always on guard and with an uncontrollable fear that never goes away. A progression of startling occasions flip around the Salgaonkars' lives when a reality takes steps to make a huge difference.

As the plot develops, even the support Vijay received from his community seven years ago begins to wane, and they start to wonder if he actually committed the crime. The police investigation helmed by Inspector General of Police Tarun Ahlawat (Akshaye Khanna) and Sameer's mother and former IG Meera (Tabu), whose accidental death in Drishyam served as the film's pivotal event, gain momentum. This time, they don't underestimate the protagonist and follow the leads.

Abhishek Pathak, the film's director, takes things slowly in the first half, following the same pattern as the first, which was directed by the late Nishkant Kamat. As he gradually builds tension in the narrative, the dread and anxiety felt by the family is palpable. Every character has a distinct role to play in the investigation, adding to the drama and suspense. Ajay Devgn excels as a loving, protective father to his family; He is a straightforward man with a sharp mind. Akshaye Khanna, who has previously portrayed a police officer in films like Mom and Ittefaq, gives these gripping events a lot of weight. As Meera, a mother seeking justice for her son, Tabu is simply outstanding. Rajat Kapoor excels in the role of her husband, who longs for everything to be settled quickly. Gaitonde, played by Kamlesh Sawant once more, is still ruthless and hungry for vengeance. The other Salgaonkars played by Shriya Saran, Ishita Dutta, and Mrunal Jadhav have roles that are almost identical to those they played in the previous scene. The role of writer Murad Ali, played by Saurabh Shukla, is well done.

Aamil Keeyan Khan and Abhishek Pathak have skillfully adapted the original story by Jeethu Joseph. They expertly interweave a number of threads, resulting in a fantastic conclusion packed with numerous surprises that are just as good as the first movie. Despite the fact that the first one undoubtedly had a certain novelty, the sequel still holds strong because it both enthralls and entertains. The story here stays flighty generally, nonetheless, a portion of the arrangements appear to be invented and a few circumstances excessively far-brought. Having said that, it's hard to make a sequel with most of the same characters to a very successful first part.

The upbeat song Sahi Galat by Amitabh Bhattacharya appears in the credits and is the title track. Saath Hum Rahein is slow, but it is perfectly shot to show how close a family is. Rockstar DSP (Devi Sri Prasad)'s background music works well together and increases the drama's intensity.
