Prime Minister Narendra Modi has lauded the central government's unique social project 'Janaushadhi Parijojana'. He said the project has saved at least Tk 13,000 crore from the pockets of the poor and middle class since the opening of the shop, just as more than 600 medicines have been handed over to the general public at government-controlled prices.
On Monday, Prime Minister Modi addressed a video conference on the occasion of Herbal Medicine Day. This time, as always, he spoke in a video conference with a few people living in different parts of the country who have benefited from the Janausdhi Kendra. He said, “These folk medicine centers are not just government drug stores, they have become centers of real people's problems. At present, 6,500 herbal medicine centers have been opened across the country. ” Herbal Medicine Day is celebrated from 1st to 6th March every year. This time the building of the fourth year - 'Janaushadhi Jan Utyogi'. Under the auspices of the Bureau of Pharmaceuticals and Medical Devices of India (PMBI) of the Union Ministry of Drugs, the 4th Herbal Medicine Week is celebrated across the country with all the States and Union Territories. The purpose is to make the general public aware of the use of generic drugs and the benefits of herbal planning.
Speaking on the occasion, Prime Minister Modi said, "Herbal medicine centers have reduced people's fears about the price of medicines. The government has controlled the prices of more than 800 drugs needed to treat diseases such as cancer, tuberculosis, diabetes and heart disease. The government has also promised to control the cost of stents and knee implants.
