KOLKATA
After 136 days, on the first day of the current week, from midnight, the price of fuel has increased anew. Since then, the price of petrol and diesel has increased four times in five days. Naturally the hands on the head are middle class.
On Friday night, the state-owned oil companies increased the price of petrol by 63 paisa per liter and diesel by 69 paisa. The price is effective from 6 am on Saturday. On this day, the cost of buying a liter of petrol for Delhiites is 96.71 rupees. In the capital, the price of diesel has gone up to Rs. 79.7. In Kolkata, the price of petrol has crossed the 106 rupees mark. Today, a liter of petrol costs 106.01 rupees in the city. The price of diesel has gone up by Rs. 93.01 respectively. More expensive petrol in Mumbai. One liter of petrol costs 113.35 rupees. The cost to buy a liter of diesel is 99.55 rupees. This is due to increase in petrol and diesel prices by 64 paise and 65 paise respectively in the commercial city.
The last time fuel prices went up was on November 2 last year. After a series of protests, the central government decided to reduce the price of fuel. So that the middle class can get temporary relief. But after the results of the five state assembly elections were announced, the price of petrol and diesel started rising again. The price of cooking gas (LPG) has also gone up by Rs. 50 per liter. Fuel prices have risen four times a week, raising the question of whether petrol and digital prices will rise again this time.
There is no doubt that the price of crude oil has risen sharply in the war-torn international market. However, Indian oil companies have also been able to buy oil from Russia at 26 percent lower prices. The Center does not usually reduce the price of fuel in the international market. As a result, a one-time price increase means that buyers may continue to pay higher prices in the future. Experts are expressing that suspicion.
