Legendary vocalist and composer Bappi Lahiri died at a Mumbai hospital on Wednesday. He was 69 years old at the time of his death. This information has been given in the report of Indian media India Today quoting the doctor.
The veteran vocalist was attacked by Corona in April last year. He was later rested at home. To facilitate his movement, a wheelchair with a lift was provided at his residence in Juhu.
Bappi Lahiri was suffering from multiple diseases. He had been ill for some time and had been receiving treatment at the hospital for the past one year. He was taken to hospital on Tuesday night after his condition deteriorated. He died this morning while undergoing treatment there.
His last song for a Bollywood film was 'Vankas' from 'Baghi Three' starring Tiger Shroff and Shraddha Kapoor. The music legend made his debut in the film industry in 1983 with the film Nanha Shikari.
Born on November 26, 1952, Bappi Lahiri popularized disco music in Hindi films. Apart from Bollywood, he has sung and composed tunes in numerous Bengali films. His famous Bengali films are 'Amar Sangi', 'Asha O Bhalobasha', 'Amar Prem', 'Rakte Lekha', 'Priya' etc.
