Chandrasekaran gets extension as chairman of Tata Sons for another 5 years

N Chandrasekharan will be the executive chairman of Tata Sons for the next five years. The decision was taken at a Tata Sons board meeting on Friday. The board members are happy with the work of the Tata Group led by Chandrasekharan. That is why it has been decided to extend his term. Chairman Emeritus, Tata Sons and Tata Group Ratan Tata was specially invited to this meeting today. He expressed satisfaction with the progress and work of the Tata Group under the leadership of Chandrasekharan, according to a statement from the company.

The Tata Group board meeting is being held today at Bombay House in Mumbai. There is a discussion about the improvement of the work of this business group. The board members unanimously voted again to make Chandrasekharan the executive chairman of the Tata Group. Everyone praised his work ethic. Chandrasekharan said, "It is an honor to lead the Tata Group for the last five years. I am very happy to have the opportunity to lead the Tata Group for another five years."

Earlier, the Tata Group owned two airlines. It has been associated with Air India. As a result, Tata now has three airlines. They are Tata SIA Airlines, Air Asia India and Air India. As a result, Tata Sons will improve, board members said. According to them, Air India Express will increase Tata's market share in the aviation industry by more than 25 per cent. Before Tata Sons acquiring Air India, Tata Steel acquired Bhushan Steel in May 2016 for Rs 35,200 crore. In May last year, Tata Sons acquired Big Basket Company for Rs 9,500 crore.

The Tata Group has made great strides in the last five years under the leadership of Chandrasekharan. Recently, the ownership of Air India passed from the central government to Tata Sons. In October last year, Tata Sons acquired ownership of Air India from the central government for Rs. 16,000 crore. The board members hope that the industry will improve further in the future.

Chandrasekharan's life is like a fairy tale. He started his career as a young intern at Tata Consultancy Services or TCS, part of the Tata Group in1987. In 2017 he was achieved as the Chairman of Tata Group. The Tata group has witnessed one of his most memorable deeds in these thirty years.
