Tata Steel Colors has won the CII Eastern Region SHE Excellence Award 2025–26 in the Large-Scale Manufacturing category for safety excellence.
The award was presented at the Biswa Bangla Exhibition Centre in New Town, Kolkata. Organised by the Confederation of Indian Industry (CII), the 20th CII Eastern Region SHE Excellence Awards recognise organisations demonstrating strong performance in Safety, Health and Environment practices across various industries. More than 90 companies participated in the awards, which acknowledge robust safety systems, responsible workplace practices, risk management, employee wellbeing and environmental stewardship.
Tata Steel Colors was recognised for several initiatives aimed at strengthening workplace safety, including Human-Machine Interface (HMI) safety, line safeguarding, interlocking systems, digitalisation and enhanced safety management practices. According to the company, these initiatives are focused on strengthening engineering controls, preventing unintended machine operations and reducing workplace risks.
Commenting on the recognition, Praveen V. Thampi, Managing Director, Tata Steel Colors Private Limited, said the award reflected the collective commitment of the company's teams towards safety and the strong practices followed as part of the Tata culture. He thanked the employees for their contribution and continued focus on strengthening safety standards, adding that the recognition reflected the company's commitment to advancing its journey towards Zero Harm.
Vishal Pandey, AGM–SHE, received the award along with Samresh Kumar and Vinay Verma on behalf of Tata Steel Colors. The recognition further highlights the company's focus on safety excellence, risk prevention, engineering controls and continuous improvement, with an emphasis on building a safe and sustainable workplace.
