The announcement was made in Kolkata, where the company also unveiled its flagship 100-inch QD Mini LED Television, underscoring its commitment to next-generation technology and an expanded premium product portfolio.
With more than four decades of consumer trust, Onida said the new strategy marks a significant milestone in its transformation journey. The company plans to accelerate innovation, enhance customer experiences, expand its retail and distribution network, and strengthen after-sales service capabilities to capitalize on the growing demand for premium, smart, and connected consumer electronics.
Eastern India has been identified as a key growth market under the Onida Rewired strategy, with West Bengal playing a central role in the company's expansion plans. Kolkata will serve as a strategic hub as Onida deepens its regional presence by strengthening channel partnerships, expanding its retail footprint, and improving customer engagement. The company aims to increase its retail presence to 100 outlets over the next two to three years while expanding its nationwide after-sales network to more than 400 service partners within the next 12 months.
Speaking at the launch, Gunjan Srivastava, CEO and Managing Director of Onida Electronics Ltd., said the company is entering a new phase of growth driven by premium innovation, superior customer experiences, and a stronger retail and service ecosystem. He noted that Kolkata and the eastern market remain integral to Onida's long-term expansion strategy and emphasized the company's commitment to making world-class technology more accessible to consumers. Srivastava also highlighted that alongside premium televisions, Onida is strengthening its air conditioner and washing machine portfolios to address evolving consumer needs.
Farooq Baig, Chief Business Officer of Onida Electronics Ltd., said the premium television market is increasingly driven by demand for larger screens, immersive entertainment, and smarter technologies. He said the new 100-inch QD Mini LED Television has been developed to deliver exceptional picture quality, advanced display performance, and an enhanced home entertainment experience.
Baig also revealed several upcoming product launches across other categories. The company plans to introduce its Smart-i feature for air conditioners, which will automatically adjust airflow direction and cooling output based on occupant movement and the number of people in a room, improving both comfort and energy efficiency. Onida will also launch a Lifestyle Air Conditioner range designed to complement modern home interiors, along with a new One-Way Cassette Air Conditioner that will mark the company's entry into the light commercial air conditioning segment.
Further expanding its home appliance portfolio, Onida announced plans to introduce large-capacity washing machines of up to 18 kilograms, targeting larger households and consumers with high-volume laundry requirements. The company said these new products reflect its continued focus on innovation while strengthening its premium offerings across multiple consumer electronics categories.
