GRSE reports record FY26 performance with ₹7,002 crore revenue and ₹748 crore profit, marking 38% and 42% growth respectively, alongside delivery of 8 warships.
Kolkata : Garden Reach Shipbuilders & Engineers Limited (GRSE), a leading public sector undertaking under the Ministry of Defence, has announced its financial results for the fourth quarter and full financial year ended March 31, 2026, reporting its highest-ever revenue and profit.
The company recorded a revenue of ₹7,002 crore in FY26, marking a robust growth of 38% compared to the previous financial year. Profit After Tax (PAT) also saw a significant rise of 42%, reaching ₹748 crore, reflecting strong operational and financial performance.
Commenting on the results, Chairman and Managing Director Cmde P.R. Hari (Retd.) said that FY26 has been a landmark year for GRSE, where strong physical output translated into impressive financial gains. During the year, the shipbuilder delivered eight warships—averaging nearly one vessel every one and a half months—an achievement he described as notable by global standards.
He further added that the company aims to sustain this growth momentum through enhanced capabilities, adoption of new technologies, and strategic diversification of its business portfolio.
Established in 1884 and taken over by the Government of India in 1960, GRSE has evolved into one of India’s premier defence shipyards. It holds the distinction of building independent India’s first warship, INS Ajay, in 1961. Over the decades, the company has delivered more than 800 platforms, including 118 warships for the Indian Navy, Indian Coast Guard, and friendly foreign nations.
GRSE also has a strong export track record, having built vessels such as CGS Barracuda for Mauritius, SCG PS Zoroaster for Seychelles, and MV Ma Lisha for Guyana. It remains the only Indian shipbuilder with four operational shipyards, enabling simultaneous construction of up to 28 ships.
Beyond shipbuilding and repair, the company has diversified into engineering solutions, including prefabricated steel bridges, marine equipment, and naval gun manufacturing. With multiple Defence Minister’s Awards to its credit, GRSE continues to strengthen its position as a key player in India’s defence manufacturing ecosystem.
