However, the a news agency tried to analyze government data from five different sources to find out whether there has been a significant increase in employment during the last few years of the Modi government in centre.
According to a report published in an media, the unemployment rate in rural areas fell to 2.4 percent in 2022-23. The unemployment rate in the city also fell to 5.4 percent. Besides, the earning rate has also increased among the women and youth communities. The news agency has shown a 'light of hope' through the statistics. According to that report, this information was obtained by analyzing the statistics of five government agencies. It has been seen there that employment has been increasing in the country for the past few years. The news agency claims that such a picture is emerging from the data of RBI, EPFO, National Career Services, Periodic Labor Force Survey and various employment related projects of the Centre.
According to the report, the unemployment rate in rural areas was 5.3 percent in 2017-18. It has come down to 2.4 percent in the last financial year. Similarly, in urban areas it has decreased from 7.7 percent to 5.4 percent. The unemployment rate among women has come down to 2.9 percent from 5.6 percent in 2017-18. Similarly unemployment among the youth community has come down from 17.8 percent to 10 percent.
