New Delhi: The National Career Service (NCS) has brought out a startling information at a time when there is a lot of noise about the lack of employment in the country in the context of the Lok Sabha elections. News agency ANI has disclosed that information. It is seen that in the fiscal year 2024, where 1,09,24,161 job posts are vacant, against that, only 87,27,900 job seekers have applied for jobs through the government portal. The data also claimed that vacant post increased by 214 percent, or three times, over the previous year. The number of active employers on the NCS job portal stands at 1,564,800, which is 89 percent more than in FY2023. However, job seekers are not interested in all the jobs listed on the portal due to low skills and low remuneration, according to employment experts.


According to news agency, there were 34,81,944 vacancies in the NCS portal in the financial year 2023. It has increased to 1,09,24,161 in the financial year 2024. Only 87,27,900 people, ie 53 percent have applied for that place. On the other hand, the number of applications of job aspirants in the financial year 2023 was 57,20,748. Quoting a government official, ANI said that the increase in job vacancies has signifies the economic growth in the country.

Incidentally, Union Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman said in Mumbai on March 30 that India is likely to grow by 8 percent or more in FY2024. "You have seen growth above 8 per cent in three quarters, hopefully the fourth quarter ending tomorrow will also be 8 per cent or above, resulting in GDP growth of 8 per cent or above in FY 2023-24," she said.

It is seen that among the job posts listed on the NCS portal in the financial year 2024, the jobs of financial and insurance sectors were the largest - 46,68,845. Which is 134 percent more than last financial year. This is followed by operations and support – 14,46,404. Compared to the last financial year, the number of jobs has increased by 286 percent. There were 11,75,900 posts in the construction sector, which is much higher than just 9,396 in the last financial year.
