Faridabad : Sarvodaya Hospital, Faridabad, has lodged a First Information Report with the police against a patient for using forged Mediclaim policy papers for getting treatment.
As per the hospital’s spokesperson, the patient was admitted through the Emergency Department on the evening of August 8, 2023, with complaints of high-grade fever, cough and cold, vomiting, weakness and body pain. The patient had taken treatment on an OPD basis from elsewhere but since he got no relief, he visited the Emergency Department of Sarvodaya Hospital.
However, during due diligence, the insurance company’s surveyor discovered that the patient’s real name was different from the one he had got himself admitted with. The patient committed fraudulent identity manipulation wherein he got admitted to the hospital under the name of his cousin and submitted his policy papers. The hospital staff was completely unaware of the entire act. The patient left the hospital, mid-treatment, due to some unforeseen family emergency and paid the entire bill in cash.
Upon discovering the deceitful manipulation, the hospital’s administration immediately took serious action, lodging an FIR at the nearest police station against the patient for his involvement in the fraudulent scheme. The patient also accepted his mistake and gave a written submission to the hospital regarding his wrong-doing.
