New Delhi: The central government gave the seal to the recommendation of the collegium for the appointment of five judges of the Supreme Court. The five judges recommended by the collegium for appointment to the Supreme Court are Chief Justice Pankaj Mithal of the Rajasthan High Court, Chief Justice Sanjay Karol of the Patna High Court, Chief Justice PV Sanjay Kumar of the Manipur High Court, Justice Ahsanuddin Amanullah of the Patna High Court and Justices of the Allahabad High Court. Justice Manoj Mishra.

On December 13 last year, the Supreme Court collegium headed by Chief Justice DY Chandrachud had recommended the appointment of five judges to the apex court. However, the Central Law Ministry was accused of being dubious about approving this recommendation. Recently, a bench of Supreme Court judges expressed anger over the matter. The country has also witnessed the government's disagreement with the judiciary regarding this appointment. Finally, the green signal of the center was received for the appointment of five judges.

According to sources, the Prime Minister's Office (PMO) approved the appointment of the five judges on February 2. Names are sent to Rashtrapati Bhavan for their appointment. The five judges can take oath as Supreme Court judges next week. Notably, on Friday, the division bench of two Supreme Court Justices SK Kall and AS Okar sent a strong message to the Central Government through Attorney General V Venkataramani. The bench said that this tussle in the appointment of judges will not be tolerated day after day. Strict action will be taken against the government if the recruitment notification is not issued soon. "Don't force us to take tough decisions," the bench told the Attorney General. Notably, the Attorney General sought ten days on Friday. But the Ministry of Law has issued the recruitment circular on Saturday itself. Even, Law Minister Kiren Rijiju tweeted to congratulate the five judges for their promotion.

However, Rijiju again sent a strong message to the judiciary saying that he saw in a news report that the Supreme Court had 'warned' the government. The people own this country and we are the servants. We are all here to serve. And our guiding constitution. The country will be governed according to the directives of the constitution and the will of the people. No one can warn anyone."
