More than Rs. 1 lakh crore GST has been collected across the country for eight consecutive months. Of which, the collection in the last five months is more than one lakh 30 thousand crore. The union finance Ministry said in a statement on Tuesday. One lakh 13 thousand 143 crore rupees has been collected in February. Which is 17 percent more than in February last year and 28 percent more than in February 2020.
GST collection set a record in January. So far, a maximum of 1 lakh 40 thousand 96 crore rupees has been collected. That index fell slightly in February on the back of Omicron variant. There were night and weekend curfews in many parts of the country for the third wave of Covid 19. At the same time, GST collection has come down a bit in the last month due to reasons like three days less in February than in January. There will be no such adversity in March. Therefore, a source in the Ministry of Finance thinks that the collection of GST this month could create a new record.
Of the amount of GST collected last month, the central GST is Rs. 24,435 crore. The GST of the states is Rs. 30,069 crore. IGST has come to Rs. 6,461 crore. Of which, Rs, 33,736 crore has been collected for import of goods. cess of Rs. 10,340 crore including collection of goods worth Rs. 638 crore has been collected. This is the first time cess imports have crossed Rs 10,000 crore.
