On Thursday the income tax department searched several houses and premises belonging to Chitra Ramakrishna, a former MD of the National Stock Exchange (NSE), accused of sharing confidential information with spiritual guru. At the same time, income tax officials also searched the house of Chief Strategy Officer Anand Subramaniam during Chitra on the NSE.
The NSE said in a promising statement on Wednesday that it was committed to proper administrative management. They are also ready to help SEBI. The Securities and Exchange Board of India (SEBI) has already found huge gaps in the functioning of the NSE. Overnight, SEBI has changed various sections of NSE. SEBI is also monitoring the activities of Marken Infrastructure Institution. It is to be noted that SEBI has found traces of several illegal practices surrounding the appointment of Chief Strategy Officer Anand Subramaniam at NSE.
Ananda Subrahmanyam's appointment has already been accused of 'irregularities'. The name of the then MD Chitra came up in that source. SEBI has already fined her Rs. 3 crore for that allegation. Meanwhile, in the whole incident, a mystery has been created about a 'yogi' living in the Himalayas.
Amidst the illegal movement of huge sums of money, Chitra said that what she did was in the words of a 'yogi' who was in the Himalayas. Sources claim that Chitra may have shared all the secret information to this 'Yogi'. The spiritual yogi was reportedly trafficked from the NSE's business plan to the board agenda.
According to the news, Chitra has received 'guidance' for the last 20 years through the words of this yogi. For that reason, investigators believe that he smuggled all this information to a Himalayan yogi in the midst of spiritual practice.
